The Biggest Scholarship of the 2025 has been announced. The Applications are open to apply for the GKS Korean Government Graduate Scholarship 2025 (GKS-G). The Global Korea Scholarship is a Fully Funded Scholarship for International students run by the Korean Government. In 2025, the Korean Government will invite 1,820 international students for the 2025 Global Korea Scholarship program for Master’s and PhD Programs. No GRE/IELTS/TOEFL is required. The Studies will begin in September 2025. There is no application fee for the Global Korea Scholarship. The Scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly stipends, room, airfare tickets, visas, books, and all other costs related to the scholarship. What is the Global Korea Scholarship?

In short, the GKS stands for Global Korea Scholarship formally known as the Korean Government Scholarship Program.

This Call is for Masters and PhD Programs. The Call for GKS Undergraduates will be in September 2025.

Tracks of the GKS Scholarship

The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) offers two application tracks:

  • Embassy Track: You will Submit your applications to the Korean Embassy in your home country. You will select the Korean Universities specified by the Korean Embassy in your home country. Generally higher competition due to more applicants.
  • University Track: In this track, you will apply directly for admission to the Korean University and select the GKS Scholarship in the online application form.

  • University Track:
    • General: 150 scholars from 55 countries or regions/
    • R-GKS: 465 scholars from 56 countries or regions
    • R&D: 300 scholars from all countries around the world
    • Global Network: 80 scholars from all countries around the world

Scholarship Duration

  • Master’s Degree: 3 Years (1 year Korean Language, 2 year degree)
  • Doctoral Degree: 4 years (1 year Korean language, 3 year degree)
  • Research Program: 6 Months.
