  To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Be a U.S. citizen holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Be seeking admittance or admitted to the University of Turku degree programs (Master’s or doctoral).
• Degree studies at the Master’s level are preferred, but doctoral projects including postdoc placements or Master-level non-degree studies can be considered if there are no eligible degree-seeking applicants.
• Academically talented graduating senior students and young post-docs who will not have received their doctorate before the Fulbright Student Program deadline are also encouraged to apply.

Application Process:
The Fulbright-University of Turku Graduate Award has a dual application procedure involving both the Fulbright grant competition and admission to the University of Turku.

1. Fulbright Grant Competition:

   • The final selection is made by the Fulbright Finland Foundation in Helsinki.
   • The application deadline is usually in early October for At-Large applicants. Candidates applying through a U.S. institution typically have a separate campus deadline, usually 4-6 weeks earlier than the final October deadline. 2. Admission to the University of Turku:
   • Secure affiliation with the University of Turku.
   • Degree student applicants need to apply for admission in accordance with the university application procedure.

• Monthly Grant: 1,000 EUR/month for Master’s students and 1,200 EUR/month for doctoral students for the academic year 2025-26.
• Tuition Fee Scholarship: Covers the entire tuition fee for the first academic year, and potentially the second year if the student completes the required ECTS credits during the first year.
