The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) is offering the Fürer Haimendorf Fund for Anthropological Field International Research. The award is open for the academic session 2024/2025.
To be eligible for the Fürer Haimendorf Fund for Anthropological Field Research, applicants must align their research interests with the regions and methodologies of Professor Christoph von Fürer-Haimendorf, focusing specifically on the cultures and societies of South and South East Asia. Additionally, candidates should plan to utilize digital methods for ethnographic documentation in their research endeavors. This scholarship is available to all nationalities and doctoral students enrolled in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).

Application Deadline:
Interested candidates should submit a project proposal of no more than 500 words along with a budget by the deadline of 14th June 2024. Submissions are to be sent to the Departmental Director of Doctoral Studies. The number and amount of awards distributed annually will be contingent upon the quantity and caliber of applicants.
Selected recipients of the Fürer Haimendorf Fund will receive financial support to cover the expenses related to their fieldwork or travel, enabling them to advance their doctoral research in anthropology at SOAS.
