Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarships in Australia

Applications are now open for the 2025 Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) Scholarship & Mentoring Program. This prestigious program, supported by the Australian Sports Commission, offers financial assistance, personal mentoring from SAHOF members, and professional development opportunities to young elite athletes across various motorcycle racing disciplines.

To be eligible, applicants must be Australian nationals, demonstrate excellence in their sport, and meet all specified criteria. This program aims to nurture the next generation of sports champions, providing up to $150,000 in total funding distributed among 32 athletes.

The Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) was established in 1985 to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Australia’s sporting legends. SAHOF aims to preserve and promote the rich history of Australian sport, inspiring future generations to strive for excellence. Through its Scholarship & Mentoring Program, SAHOF supports young elite athletes by providing financial assistance, personal mentoring from legendary athletes, and opportunities for professional development, helping them achieve success on the international stage.

Eligibility

• Eligible Countries: Local students
• Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded to support athletes in any discipline of motorcycle racing.
• Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Must be a young elite athlete aiming for excellence and success on the international stage.
• Applicants should be involved in motorcycle racing disciplines such as dirt track, enduro, juniors, motocross, road race, road racing, speedway, supercross, or track.
• Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria as specified by the SAHOF before submitting their application.

Benefits

The scholarship program is divided into three tiers, each offering different levels of support:

Tier 1:

• Six successful recipients will each receive:
  • One-on-one personal mentoring from a Sport Australia Hall of Fame Member
  • $10,000 sporting expense grant
  • Merchandise and recovery equipment
  • Invitations to attend SAHOF events to meet fellow scholarship holders and members
  • Opportunities to attend development workshops

Tier 2:

• Ten successful recipients will each receive:
  • $5,000 sporting expense grant
  • Merchandise and recovery equipment
  • Invitations to attend SAHOF events to meet fellow scholarship holders and members
  • Opportunities to attend development workshops

Tier 3:

• Sixteen successful recipients will each receive:
  • $2,500 sporting expense grant
  • Merchandise and recovery equipment
  • Invitations to attend SAHOF events to meet fellow scholarship holders and members
  • Opportunities to attend development workshops
